Additional media for your biOrb or biUbe. This will increase the area available for biological filtration and makes it easier to anchor plants into position. The ceramic media should not need to be replaced, in stages, but if you wish to change the media you should do so gradually, and not all at once. Changing the media gradually allows the existing filter bacteria to move across and colonize the new media from the old.

Extra ceramic media can be added to your aquarium.

biOrb Airstone

Changing the air stone from time to time is advisable. Depending on your local water supply and the conditions in your biOrb an air stone can last anywhere from 3 months to 3 years. Over time the tiny pores in the air stone can become blocked by dirt and limescale preventing air from getting through properly.

It breaks up the flow of air into the aquarium, splitting it into a mass of fine bubbles. The biorb airstone fits in the base of the biOrb underneath the filter cartridge. Small and compact. It also reduces noise from the air pump. Assists with the oxygenation of your biOrb to maintain a healthy environment for your fish.

Replacing the air stone every few months.
